This icee has a spinach base and is so refreshing. The tartness from the lemonquat (which is just a hybrid of a lemon and a kumquat) adds a twist to the taste of the smoothie. It's also super simple and a blender recipe. I know it's silly, but drinking (eating?? if its an Icee is it eating or drinking?) this always makes me feel like I'm hanging out with the Creature from the Black Lagoon. And to me, that's reason enough to try this!

time: 10 minutes

serving: 4 (each serving is roughly 12 oz)

ingredients:

-2 handfuls of spinach

-ice

-1 lemonquat (or you can just use plain lemons or kumquats)

-agave to taste*

1) wash the spinach and lemonquat and then add the spinach into the blender

2) squeeze in the juice from your lemonquat

3) blend all ingredients

4) taste a bit

5) add ice or agave as needed to either thicken up the consistency or sweeten up the taste (respectively)

6) blend again

7) serve!

*you can use any liquid sweetener you have on hand, we just happened to have agave ☺️ That goes for other recipes with agave as well! it can be substituted ^^

This tofu recipe is super easy and definitely a great recipe if you're in college.

time: 5-10 minutes

serves: 1

ingredients:

-1 block of tofu

-a sprinkle of salt

1). heat up the pan* and then turn the heat down to a medium (~350 F or 177 C or 450 K)

2). sprinkle some salt on the bottom of the pan

3). add in the tofu and cook until tofu edges are as crisp as you like it

4). serve!

*I used one of those small personal sized pans that literally only holds one tofu block. However, the quantities of this recipe can be easily changed

**This was served with some steamed rice and stir fried chayote squash

Bamboos are great plants for beginners and people who want to have plants in their homes. They're very pretty to grow and pretty simple. Since I have bamboo plants, I wanted to give you guys some tips on how to care for them!

1). the best growing spot is to keep your bamboo next to a window (like most plants, they thrive on the sunlight)

2). you can tell your bamboo is growing well when you see new shoots appear and there's a vibrant green color

3). if the stalk has lines running through it (as seen below) then you need to water the bamboo more

4). an unhealthy bamboo plant would likely look like the one below

*I am, by no means, an expert and these are just things that I have personally noticed
